"What you have received as a gift, give as a gift!"

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us a profound lesson for life:
“You have received without cost; give without cost.”

In a world that often focuses on divisions of caste, religion, race, and language, today’s Word of God calls us to be people who share the love, mercy, and forgiveness that God has given us — and to share the blessings we have received with others.

Based on today’s readings, we are invited to reflect on four important points:

1. We are all called to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven

When Jesus sends out His disciples, He instructs them to declare:
“The Kingdom of Heaven has come near.”
This same call is given to us today. Wherever we go and whomever we meet, our words and actions must reflect the values of God's Kingdom. Through our daily lives, we are called to be proclaimers of this Good News.

2. Freely we have received, freely we must give

Everything we have is a gift from God:

• Our physical health,
• Our emotional well-being,
• Our intelligence,
• Our access to food and shelter,
• Our family and social relationships,
• Most importantly, our faith and compassion —
  All these are gifts given to us freely.

But these gifts are not just for us; they are meant to be shared with others. A heart that is willing to share — this is what God expects from us today.

3. Our mission must be rooted in faith, not material things

Jesus tells His disciples: “Do not take gold or silver, or extra clothing with you.”
Through this, He teaches us that our mission should not be centered on wealth or material security, but on unshakable trust in God. We are called to build our ministry on faith.

4. Share what truly matters

Dear brothers and sisters,
We have received countless blessings from Jesus. Today, He looks at us and says:
“You have received without cost; give without cost.”

This is not just about money or possessions. Instead, He is calling us to share:

• Our time,
• Our attention,
• Our inner peace,
• Our kind and compassionate words.

Only then will our lives truly follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Let us ask God today for the strength to live this message, and He will surely bless us.

கொடை என வந்தது, கொடை என செல்லட்டும்!" (9.7.2025)

 "கொடை என வந்தது, கொடை என செல்லட்டும்!"

அன்பார்ந்த சகோதர சகோதரிகளே,

இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் இயேசு நம் வாழ்விற்கு மிகவும் உன்னதமான ஒரு வாழ்வுக்கான வாழ்க்கை பாடத்தை கற்பிக்கிறார். அது “கொடையாகப் பெற்றீர்கள்; கொடையாகவே வழங்குங்கள்” என்பதாகும்.

சாதி, மதம், இனம், மொழி என வேறுபாடுகளை மட்டுமே மையப்படுத்தி வாழ்கின்ற மனித இனம் கடவுள் கொடுத்த அன்பையும், இரக்கத்தையும், மன்னிப்பையும்  அடுத்தவரோடு பகிர்ந்தும்... இறைவன் கொடுத்த செல்வங்களை இயன்றவரோடு பகிர்ந்தும் வாழும் மனம் படைத்தவர்களாக வாழ வேண்டும் என்பதை இன்றைய இறை வார்த்தை நமக்கு சுட்டிக் காட்டுகிறது...

 இன்றைய வாசகங்களை மையப்படுத்தி நாம் நான்கு காரியங்களை சிந்திக்க அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம் ...

---

1. விண்ணரசு பறைசாற்றும் பணிக்கு அனைவரும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம்... 

இயேசு சீடர்களை அனுப்பும்பொழுது, "விண்ணரசு நெருங்கி வந்துவிட்டது" எனப் பறைசாற்றும்படி கட்டளையிடுகிறார். இதுவே இன்று இறைவன் நமக்கும் தருகின்ற அழைப்பாக இருக்கிறது.  நாம் எங்கு சென்றாலும், எவரைச் சந்தித்தாலும், நம் வார்த்தைகள், செயல்கள் அனைத்தும் ஆண்டவர் இயேசுவின் இறையாட்சியின் மதிப்பீடுகளை உள்ளடக்கியதாக அமைய வேண்டும்... இவைகளின் மூலமாக இறைவனின் விண்ணரசை பற்றிய நற்செய்தியை பறைசாற்றும் நபர்களாக நாம் நமது வாழ்வை அமைத்துக் கொள்ள இன்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம்.

2. கொடையாக பெற்றதை கொடையாகவே பகிர்வோம்...

நாம் பெற்றுள்ள எல்லா அருள்களும் இறைவனுடைய கொடை...:

• நம் உடல் ஆரோக்கியம்,
• நம் உணர்வு நலம், (மன நலம்)
•  நம் அறிவு,
• நம் உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு,
• நம் குடும்பம், சமூக உறவுகள்,
• முக்கியமாக நம் நம்பிக்கையும் இரக்கமும் — இவை அனைத்தும் நமக்குத் தரப்பட்ட கொடை....

இவை நமக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, மற்றவர்களுடன் பகிர்வதற்காகவே....

இந்த பகிர்ந்து வாழும் மனமே இறைவன் இன்று நம்மிடம் எதிர்பார்க்கும் எதிர்பார்ப்பாக இருக்கிறது....

3. நம்பிக்கையே நம் பணியின் மையம்: 

இயேசு சீடர்களிடம் சொல்கிறார்:

“பொன்னோ, வெள்ளியோ... பையோ, கூடுதல் ஆடையோ எடுத்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம்.”

என்கிறார். இவ்வார்த்தைகள் வழியாக நமது பணி என்பது பணத்தையோ பொருளையோ மையப்படுத்தி இல்லாமல் ஆண்டவர் மீது கொண்டுள்ள அசைக்க முடியாத நம்பிக்கையை மையப்படுத்தி அமைய வேண்டும் என்பதை இதயத்தில் நிறுத்திக் கொள்ள நாம் அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம் ...

சகோதர சகோதரிகளே,
இயேசுவிடம் இருந்து நாம் ஏராளமான கொடைகளை  பெற்றுள்ளோம். இன்று அவர் நம்மைப் பார்த்து:

"நீங்கள் கொடையாகப் பெற்றீர்கள்... கொடையாகவே வழங்குங்கள்."

இது பணம் அல்லது  பொருளை மையப்படுத்தியது அல்ல.. மாறாக 

உங்கள் நேரத்தை,
உங்கள் கவனத்தை,
உங்கள் மனஅமைதியை,
உங்கள் இரக்கமுள்ள வார்த்தையை பகிருங்கள்.

அப்போதுதான் நம் வாழ்க்கை இயேசுவின் அடிச்சுவட்டில் பயணிப்பதாக அமையும் ...

இதற்கான ஆற்றல் வேண்டி இன்றைய நாளில் இறை வேந்தல் செய்வோம் இறைவன் நம்மை தொடர்ந்து ஆசிர்வதிப்பார் ...

Let Us Move Forward Together…

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
It gives me great joy to reflect with you today based on the Gospel passage.

From today's Gospel, we are invited to understand three important truths:

---

1. The Authority Given to the Disciples:

Jesus called the twelve disciples to Himself and gave them:

• Authority to drive out evil spirits, and
• Power to heal every disease and sickness.

This teaches us an important truth:
All of us who are called to serve the Lord have received authority and blessings from Him.

These gifts bring us respect and joy among the people.
We read in the Bible that the disciples rejoiced because they had the power to cast out demons. But Jesus reminded them,
“Do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
So, instead of seeking worldly achievements, we must always approach God for the authority and blessings needed for the mission He gives us.

---

2. Clarity in the Mission: A Call to Know the Focus of Our Mission

Jesus sends His disciples with clear instructions:

• “Do not go among the Gentiles,
• Do not enter any city of the Samaritans,
• Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.”

This shows us the priority and direction we must follow:
We are first called to serve those around us —
Our homes, families, neighborhoods, and the communities we are part of should be our first mission field.

3. The Reason for This Call — as Given by Jesus:

The reason for this call, as stated in today’s Gospel, is:
“The Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

The Kingdom of Heaven is filled with joy, love, peace, and compassion.
It is our responsibility and duty to build this Kingdom in our society today.

We are all called to take part in this mission and strive to make this heavenly Kingdom visible here and now.

With a sense of duty, let us resolve in our hearts today to work together for God’s mission.
God will continue to bless us always.

இணைந்து முன்னெடுக்க...

அன்பிற்குரிய சகோதர சகோதரிகளே,
இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தின் அடிப்படையில் உங்களோடு இணைந்து சிந்திப்பதில் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன் ... 

இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தின் அடிப்படையில் மூன்று காரியங்களை நாம் உணர்ந்து கொள்ள அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம் ...

---

1. சீடர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட அதிகாரம்:

இயேசு தம் பன்னிரு சீடர்களையும் தம்மிடம் வரவழைத்தார். அவர் அவர்களுக்கு,

• தீய ஆவிகளை ஓட்டும் அதிகாரமும்
• நோய்களை குணமாக்கும் வல்லமையையும் அளித்தார்.

இது நமக்கு ஒரு முக்கியமான உண்மை உணர்த்துகிறது. 

ஆண்டவரின் பணிக்காக  வந்துள்ள நாம் அனைவரும் அதிகாரமும், ஆண்டவனின் ஆசியையும்  பெற்றிருக்கிறோம்...

இவை நமக்கு மக்கள் மத்தியில் மதிப்பையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் கொடுக்கும் ... 

இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள் கூட தங்களால் பேய்களை ஓட்ட முடிகிறது என்று சொல்லி மகிழ்ந்தவர்கள் என விவிலியத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம்...  ஆனால் இயேசு இந்த மகிழ்ச்சியை நாடாது விண்ணகத்தில் உங்கள் பெயர் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது குறித்து மகிழுங்கள் எனக் கூறுகிறார்...  எனவே உலக நாட்டங்களை தவிர்த்து ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் இறைவன் நமக்குத் தந்துள்ள பணிக்குச் செல்லும் முன்னே,  அவரிடமிருந்து அப்பணிக்கான அதிகாரமும் ஆசீர்வாதமும் பெற வேண்டும்.

2. அனுப்பும் பணியின் துல்லியம்: நம் பணியின் துல்லியத்தை அறிவதற்கான அழைப்பு. 

இயேசு ஒரு தெளிவான வழிகாட்டலுடன் சீடர்களை  அனுப்புகிறார்:

• “பிற இனத்தாரிடமல்ல,
• சமாரியர்களிடமல்ல,
• வழி தவறிப் போன இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களிடமே செல்லுங்கள்.”

இது முன்னுரிமை கொடுக்க வேண்டிய திசையை காட்டுகிறது:
முதலில் நம்மைச் சுற்றியிருப்பவர்களிடையே பணியை செய்ய வேண்டும்.
நம் வீட்டிலும், குடும்பத்திலும், ஊரிலும், நான் இருக்கும் இடத்தை மையப்படுத்திய பணிகளை முதலில் நாம் கையாள வேண்டும்.

3. இந்த அழைப்புக்கு இயேசு சொல்லும் காரணம்: 

நம்மை அழைக்கும் இறைவன் என்றை நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தின் வழியாக நாம் அழைப்புக்கு தரும் காரணம்:
"விண்ணரசு நெருங்கிவந்துவிட்டது." என்பதாகும். 

விண்ணக அரசு மகிழ்ச்சியால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்...அன்பு அமைதியும் மனித நேயமும் அங்கு நிறைந்திருக்கும் இத்தகைய விண்ணக அரசை இன்று நாம் வாழும் சமூகத்தில் உருவாக்க வேண்டிய பொறுப்பும் கடமையும் நம் அனைவருக்கும் உண்டு... இதை உருவாக்கு முயற்சியில் நாம் ஈடுபட வேண்டும் இது நம் பொறுப்பும் கடமையும் ஆகும் ...

கடமை உணர்வோடு கடவுளுக்குரிய காரியங்களை இணைந்து முன்னெடுக்கா இன்றைய நாளில்  இதயத்தில் உறுதி ஏற்போம்... இறைவன் நம்மை தொடர்ந்து ஆசிர்வதிப்பார்...

The Call to the Lord’s Mission...

Beloved in Christ,
It brings me great joy to reflect with you today on the Word of God based on the Gospel reading.

In today’s Gospel passage, we can identify three key aspects:

---

1. The Compassion of Jesus:

Jesus was not one to show partiality or act based on status. He never excluded anyone.
He showed compassion to the sick, the possessed, and the neglected.
He healed them — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

This becomes our mission too, especially in today’s world.
At this moment, we can remember the words of St. Mother Teresa:
“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”
Or more pointedly: “We must be compassionate until death.”
These words are worthy of being imprinted in our hearts.

---

2. The People of Israel:

Looking back through history with the light of the Bible, we see that the people of Israel were
“like sheep without a shepherd.”

Jesus took up the mission of embracing and guiding them.
Even today, in our society, many wander like sheep without a shepherd —
those who do not know Christ, and those who know Him yet do not walk in His path.

We have the responsibility and duty to guide them, especially the younger generations.
Today’s Word of God reminds us of that.

3. The Call to the Lord’s Mission:

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
Jesus’ words remind us that many souls are ready for the harvest, but there are not enough workers to care for them.

This is a call not only to those in religious life,
but to all of us.

Let us hold this divine calling in our hearts and renew our commitment to live each day
as workers in the Lord’s mission — through our words and actions.
Let us be a guiding light to others.

May the Lord continue to bless us all.

ஆண்டவரின் பணிக்கான அழைப்பு... (8.7.2025)

ஆண்டவரின் பணிக்கான  அழைப்பு... 

இறைவன் இயேசுவில் அன்புக்குரியவர்களே இன்றைய நாள் இறை வார்த்தையின் அடிப்படையில் உங்களோடு இணைந்து சிந்திப்பதில் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன்.

இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தில் நாம் கண்டு கொள்ளும் முதன்மையான மூன்று அம்சங்கள்

1. இயேசுவின் இரக்கம்:

இயேசு ஆள் பார்த்து செயல்படாதவர் . அவர் யாரையும் ஒதுக்கவில்லை. நோயாளிகள், பேய்பிடித்தவர்கள், ஏமாற்றப்பட்ட மக்கள் — இவர்களை அவர் கண்டபோது இரக்கம் கொண்டார்.
அவர் அவர்களது உடலையும், மனதையும், ஆன்மாவையும் தொட்டு  குணமாக்கினார். இதுவே என்று நாம் வாழும் சமூகத்தில் நாம் செய்ய வேண்டிய பணியாக அமைகிறது. 
இந்நேரத்தில் "இறக்கும் வரை இரக்கத்தோடு இருப்போம்..." என்ற புனித அன்னை தெரசாவின் வாழ்வின் வரிகளை நாம் இதயத்தில் இருத்திக் கொள்வது ஏற்றதாக இருக்கும்.

2. இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள்:

விவிலியத்தின் துணையோடு வரலாற்றை திருப்பி பார்க்கின்ற போது இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் "ஆயர் இல்லாத ஆடுகள் போல" அலைந்து திரிந்தனர். அவர்களை அரவணைத்து வழி நடத்துகிற பணியை இயேசு முன்னெடுத்தார். 
இன்றைய காலத்திலும் நாம் வாழும் சமூகத்தில் ஆயரெல்லாம் ஆடுகளைப் போல அலைந்து திரிகின்ற இயேசுவை அறியாதவர்களையும்,  இயேசுவை அறிந்தும் அவர் வழி செல்லாதவர்களையும், இளம் தலைமுறையினரையும் வழிகாட்டி வழி நடத்த வேண்டிய பொறுப்பும் கடமையும் நாம் அத்துணை பேருக்கும் உண்டு என்பதை இன்றைய இறை வார்த்தை நமக்கு உணர்த்துகிறது.

3. ஆண்டவரின் பணிக்கான  அழைப்பு:

அறுவடைகுதி வேலையாட்கள் குறைவு என்பதை  ஆன்மாக்கள் அறுவடைக்கு தயாராக இருக்கின்றன; ஆனால் அவற்றைப் பராமரிக்கவே தேவையான வேலையாளர்கள் இல்லை. என்ற கோணத்தில் நாம் உணர வேண்டும். 
இது நம் அனைவருக்குமான அழைப்பு ... இது வெறுமனே துறவரத்தாருக்கானது மட்டுமல்ல அனைவருக்கமான அழைப்பு ... இந்த அழைப்பை இதயத்தில் நிறுத்தி ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் நம் சொல்லாலும் செயலாலும் இயேசுவின் பணியாளர்களாய் நாம் வாழவும் மற்றவருக்கு வழிகாட்டவும் இன்றைய நாளில் இதயத்தில் உறுதி ஏற்போம். இறைவன் நம்மை தொடர்ந்து ஆசிர்வதிப்பார்.

Your Faith Has Made You Well - (7.7.2025)

"Your Faith Has Made You Well"

(Matthew 9:22)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s Gospel passage helps us understand the faith of two individuals and the compassion of Jesus.

Even in situations where it would have been easier to give up, these two people held firmly to their faith. The Gospel points this out clearly for us to reflect upon.

1. The Synagogue Leader's Faith: A Faith Beyond Death

First, we encounter the synagogue leader who comes and bows before Jesus, even after knowing that his daughter has died.
His humble request is:
“Come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”
This is a powerful expression of deep faith.

He didn’t approach Jesus in a moment of joy but at a time when all hope seemed lost.
Yet, he believed that what was impossible for others was possible through Jesus.

Dear friends, standing in faith before death is not an easy thing, especially in our times.
But those who know Jesus have learned that death is not the end — it is a new beginning.
We are invited to learn and live this truth ourselves.

2. The Genuine Faith of the Woman with the Hemorrhage

This woman had suffered from a bleeding condition for twelve years.
She came silently through the crowd and touched the hem of Jesus' garment — unnoticed by others.

Her reason for touching Him?
“If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed.”
What a profound and authentic faith!

Jesus turned and said:
“Daughter, take courage. Your faith has made you well.”

This was not just a comforting word — it was more powerful than any medicine.
We, too, are in need of such a living faith in our lives.
Can we fully trust Jesus?
This woman stands as a clear example for us today.

3. Jesus, the One Who Conquers Death

Jesus then goes to the girl’s house.
There is weeping, noise, confusion, and mourning.
But Jesus calmly says:
“The girl is not dead... she is only sleeping.”

Where the world saw death, Jesus saw sleep —
because in Jesus’ eyes, death is not the end but a new beginning.

Jesus touched the girl’s hand, and she rose up alive.

This is a call to faith for all of us today.
Even when we are in a spiritually dead state because of sin,
one touch from Jesus can bring new life.

But for this, we need deep faith — the faith to believe that
God forgives us, accepts us wholeheartedly,
and offers us a chance to start again.

Let us walk each day with this conviction.

Then Jesus' words will be spoken over us as well:
“Your faith has made you well.”

Let us renew our faith today and firmly approach Jesus with courage and trust.
May the Lord continue to bless us always...

உன் நம்பிக்கை உன்னை குணமாக்கிற்று(7.7.2025)

“உன் நம்பிக்கை உன்னை குணமாக்கிற்று”

(மத்தேயு 9:22)

அன்புக்குரிய சகோதர சகோதரிகளே,
இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகம் இருவரின் நம்பிக்கையையும்... இயேசுவின் இரக்கத்தையும்... நாம் அறிந்து கொள்ள உதவுகிறது. 

நம் நடைமுறை வாழ்வில் மிகவும் எளிதாக  நம்பிக்கையைக் கைவிடக்கூடிய நிலையில்தான் அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கையை உறுதியாக பிடித்திருந்தனர் என்பதை இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகம் சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறது. 

1. தொழுகைக் கூடத் தலைவரின் நம்பிக்கை: மரணத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட நம்பிக்கை...

முதலில் இயேசு  தம்மை நோக்கி வந்து பணிந்த தொழுகைக் கூடத் தலைவர் தன் மகள் இறந்துவிட்டாள் என்பதை அறிந்தும், இயேசுவிடம் நம்பிக்கையோடு வருகிறார்.

அவரின் எளிய வேண்டுதல் ...
“நீர் வந்து அவள் மீது கையை வையுங்கள், அவள் உயிர் பெறுவாள்.”
இது ஒரு ஆழமான நம்பிக்கையின் வெளிப்பாடு.

இவர் மகிழ்வான தருணத்தில் ஆண்டவரை நோக்கி சென்றவர் அல்ல; இனி எவராலும் எதுவும் செய்ய முடியாது என தெரிந்தும் ஆண்டவர் இயேசுவால் முடியும் என நம்பி நம்பிக்கையோடு சொல்கிறார்.

அன்புக்குரியவர்களே, நாம் வாழும் இந்தக் காலத்தில் மரணத்தின் முன்னிலையில் நம்பிக்கையுடன் நிற்பது மிகவும் கடினமான காரியம். ஆனால் இயேசுவை அறிந்தவர்கள் மரணம் என்பது முடிவல்ல, அது புதிய தொடக்கம் என்பதைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள் அதையே நாமும் கற்றுக்கொள்ள என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம்.

2.  பன்னிரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாக இரத்தப் போக்கால் துன்புற்ற பெண்ணின் உண்மையான நம்பிக்கை:

பன்னிரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாக இரத்தப் போக்கால் துன்புற்றிருந்தவர். அவர் மக்களின் கூட்டத்தில் இருந்து யாராலும் அறியப்படாமல் இயேசுவின் ஆடையின் ஓரத்தைத் தொட்டார்.
அவர் தொட்டதற்கான காரணம்
“அவருடைய ஆடையைத் தொட்டாலே போதும், நலம் பெறுவேன்” என்ற ஆழமான, உண்மையான  நம்பிக்கையின் வெளிப்பாடு.  

இயேசு திரும்பிப் பார்த்து “மகளே, துணிவோடிரு. உனது நம்பிக்கை உன்னைக் குணமாக்கிற்று” என்கிறார்.

இது வெறும் வார்த்தை இல்லை. இது மருந்தைக் காட்டிலும் மகத்துவம் வாய்ந்தது.

நம் வாழ்க்கையிலும் அந்த நம்பிக்கையை நாம் ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டிய தேவை உள்ளது. நம்மால் இயேசுவை முழுமையாக நம்ப முடியுமா?  என்ற கேள்விக்கு இப்பெண்ணே நமக்கான முன் உதாரணம் ...

3. மரணத்தை வென்றவர் இயேசு 

இயேசு அந்த சிறுமியின் வீட்டுக்குச் செல்கிறார். அங்கு கண்ணீர், குழல், குழப்பம், கலக்கம். ஆனால் இயேசு அமைதியுடன் சொல்கிறார்:
“சிறுமி இறக்கவில்லை… உறங்குகிறாள்”
உலகம் “மரணம்” என்று சொன்ன இடத்தில் இயேசு “தூக்கம்” என்று சொல்கிறார். ஏனெனில் இயேசுவின் பார்வையில் மரணம் என்பது முடிவல்ல அது ஒரு தொடக்கம்.  

இயேசு அந்த சிறுமியின் கையைத் தொட்டார், அவள் உயிர் பெற்று எழுந்தாள்.
இது இன்று நமக்கான ஒரு நம்பிக்கையின் அழைப்பு.
இன்றும் இயேசு நம்முடைய தீய செயல்கள் மிகுந்த வாழ்க்கையில் இறந்த நிலையில் இருக்கும் நம்மை  தொட்டாலே போதும், நமக்குள் புதுவாழ்வு பிறக்கும் இதற்கு ஆழமான நம்பிக்கை தேவை இறைவன் நம்மை மன்னிக்கிறார் மனதார ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார் மீண்டும் நமது வாழ்வை புதுப்பிக்க ஒரு வாய்ப்பு தந்திருக்கிறார் என்ற ஆழமான நம்பிக்கையோடு நாம் அனுதினமும் பயணிக்க வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு பயணிக்கும் போது 

“உன் நம்பிக்கை உன்னை குணமாக்கிற்று”
இவ்வார்த்தை இயேசுவால் இன்று நம்மை நோக்கியும் சொல்லப்படும் ...
இந்நாளில் நம் நம்பிக்கையை புதுப்பித்து, இயேசுவின் அருகில் செல்ல இதயத்தில் உறுதி ஏற்போம் இறைவன் நம்மை தொடர்ந்து ஆசிர்வதிப்பார் ....

“The Harvest is Abundant… but the Laborers are Few!”

(Luke 10:2)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
In today’s Gospel passage, we witness Jesus appointing seventy-two disciples and sending them out two by two for His mission. This reminds us clearly that the mission of proclaiming the Kingdom of God is not a personal endeavor but a shared responsibility—a community mission that involves each of us.

The Harvest is Abundant; the Laborers are Few

Through these words, Jesus reveals the vastness of the work required in the mission of God. The harvest is indeed plentiful, but there are few who are willing to commit themselves fully with dedication and zeal.
All of us who are baptized have a sacred duty to witness to Jesus Christ from our early years—but how many of us continue that mission with true passion and commitment?
Today’s reading calls us to reflect on that.

In our current society, we see many inequalities and injustices.
Recently, the tragic news of Rithanya, a young bride who took her life just 78 days into marriage due to dowry-related harassment, continues to echo in our ears.
Similarly, Ajith Kumar, who died under suspicious circumstances while in police custody, remains a painful memory of injustice and cruelty.

We are called to live in a society that should share love, mercy, and forgiveness. Sadly, many people around us fail to embody this spirit.
It is in such a context that Jesus’ words—“The harvest is abundant; the laborers are few…”—take on a powerful and deeply relevant meaning for us today.

To everyone involved in the mission of building the Kingdom of God, Jesus offers a serious warning:
“I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.”
This is no simple or easy mission. The journey is filled with obstacles, criticisms, and opposition.
Jesus Himself is the prime example—if everyone had accepted His message, His crucifixion wouldn’t have happened.

We are called, like the seventy-two, to be courageous witnesses of God’s love and justice, even in the midst of hostile environments.
Engaging in the mission of God is not easy today—but even more dangerous is becoming an obstacle to that mission.

So, what does Jesus teach us? To go forth and always share peace wherever we go.
He says: “Peace be to this house!”
Peace should be the first gift we bring to every place.
We are to be peacemakers—not just in word, but in action and lifestyle. This should be the foundation of our missionary calling.

Many times, unexpected joy comes from this mission.
In today’s Gospel, we see the seventy-two disciples return joyfully, saying:
“Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!”
But Jesus gently corrects their focus:
“Do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

More than power, fame, position, or recognition, our true joy must be that our names are written in heaven because of our faithfulness in God’s mission.

Let us then reflect on Jesus’ words:
“The harvest is abundant… but the laborers are few.”
Let us respond to His call, prepare ourselves for the harvest, and walk forward in faith and wisdom—making a difference through our lives.

அறுவடை மிகுதி… வேலையாள்கள் குறைவு!

(லூக்கா 10:2)

அன்புக்குரிய சகோதர சகோதரிகளே,
இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தில் இயேசு எழுபத்திரண்டு சீடர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து, தம்முடைய பணிக்காக இருவராக இருவராக அனுப்புகிறார்.

இயேசுவின் இறையாட்சி பணி தனியாக மட்டும் அல்ல, அனைவரையும் பங்கேற்க வேண்டிய  ஒரு சமூகப் பணி என்பதை நமக்கு இன்றைய வாசகங்கள்  நினைவூட்டுகிறது.

1. அறுவடை மிகுதி; வேலையாள்கள் குறைவு

இயேசு இந்த வார்த்தைகளில் இறை ஆட்சி பணிக்கான  வேலை இவ்வுலகில் அதிகம் இருக்கிறது; ஆனால் அதற்குத் தேவையான அர்ப்பணிப்புள்ள பணியாளர்கள் குறைவாகவே இருக்கின்றர்கள்...

திருமுழுக்கு பெற்ற அனைவரும் ஆண்டவர் இயேசுவை அறிக்கையிட சிறு வயது முதலே கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம் ....ஆனால் ஆர்வத்தோடு அர்ப்பணம் உணர்வோடும் இப்பணியை தொடர்கிறவர்களாக நாம் இருக்கிறோமா? என சிந்திக்க இன்றைய நாள் நமக்கு அழைப்பு விடுகிறது....

இன்றும் நாம் வாழும் சமூகத்தில் பலவிதமான ஏற்றத்தாழ்வுகள் ....

சமீபத்தில் ரிதன்யா என்ற புதுமணப்பெண்  திருமணமான 78 நாட்களில் வரதட்சனை கொடுமையை தன் பெற்றோரிடம் கூறிவிட்டு தன் உயிரை மாய்த்துக் கொண்ட நிகழ்வு என்றும் நம் செவிகளில் ஒலித்துக் கொண்டுதான் இருக்கிறது ....

சந்தேகத்தின் பெயரில் கைது செய்யப்பட்டு பலவிதமான துன்புறுத்தலுக்கு ஆளாகி இறந்து போன அஜித்குமார் என்ற பெயரும் நம் காதுகளில் இன்றும் ஒலித்துக் கொண்டுதான் இருக்கிறது ...

அன்பையும் இரக்கத்தையும் மன்னிப்பையும் பகிர வேண்டிய சமூகம் இன்னும் இதை பகிர்ந்து வாழும் மனம் இல்லாத நபர்களோடு தான் பயணிக்கிறது.... 

இப்படிப்பட்ட சூழலில் இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளான "அறுவடை மிகுதி; வேலையாள்கள் குறைவு... "

என்பது நாம் சிந்திப்பதற்கு முற்றிலும் பொருத்தமான வார்த்தைகள் ஆகும்.

இறையாட்சிப் பணியை செய்கின்ற அனைவருக்கும் இன்று ஆண்டவர் தருகின்ற ஒரு எச்சரிக்கை...." ஓநாய்களிடையே ஆட்டுக் குட்டிகளை அனுப்புவது போல..." நீங்கள் அனுப்பப்படுகிறீர்கள் என்பதாகும்...

இது இயேசு கொடுக்கும் உண்மையான எச்சரிக்கை. இறையாட்சியைப் பரப்பும் பணியில் பலவிதமான சவால்கள் உண்டு... இடையூறுகளும்... விமர்சனங்களும்... எதிர்ப்புகளும்... உண்டு.

இதற்குச் சிறந்த உதாரணம் இயேசுவின் வாழ்வு ... எல்லோரும் இயேசுவை ஏற்று இருந்தால் இயேசுவின் இறப்பு இல்லாமல்  போயிருக்கும் ... ஒவ்வொருவரும் சவாலான சூழ்நிலையில் இறைவனுடைய சாட்சிகளாக இருக்கவேண்டிய கட்டாயத்துடன் இறையாட்சிபணியில் இணைந்து பயணிக்க அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம்.

இன்று இறைய ஆட்சிப் பணியை செய்வது எளிதான காரியம் அல்ல ...

அதே சமயம் இறையாற்றி பணியில் பங்கம் விளைவிக்கும் பணியில் நாம் பங்கேற்காமல் இருப்பது அவசியம்.... எனவே செல்லும் இடமெல்லாம் அமைதியை பகிர்ந்து  ... வாழ வேண்டும் என்பது இயேசு என்று நமக்குத் தரும் வாழ்வுக்கான பாடமக அமைகிறது.

இயேசு கூறுகிறார்: “இந்த வீட்டுக்கு அமைதி உண்டாகுக!” அமைதி என்பது நாம் சுமந்து செல்லும் முதன்மையான பரிசு. நாம் செல்லும் இடங்களில் அமைதி ஊட்டுபவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும். இதுவே நம் பணியின் அடிப்படை தாரக மந்திரமாக அமைய வேண்டும்.

இந்த இறையாட்சி பணி வாழ்வில் பல நேரங்களில் நாம் எதிர்பாராத மகிழ்ச்சி நம்முடையதாக மாறலாம்  

உதாரணமாக இன்றைய நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தில் எழுபத்திரண்டு சீடர்கள் திரும்பி வந்து மகிழ்வுடன் கூறுகிறார்கள்: “பேய்கள் கூட உமது பெயரால் எங்களுக்கு அடிபணிகின்றன!” என்று சொல்லி மகிழ்கிறார்கள் ஆனால் இயேசு சொல்லுகிறார்: “உங்கள் பெயர்கள் விண்ணகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன என்பது பற்றியே மகிழுங்கள்!” என்று...

இவ்வுலகில் கிடைக்கும் பெயருக்கும், புகழுக்கும், பதவிக்கும், அதிகாரத்திற்கும் மேல் உள்ள மகிழ்ச்சியை நடாது.., நம் பணியால் நம் பெயர்கள் விண்ணகத்தில் பதியப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதுவே உண்மையான மகிழ்ச்சி என்பதை உணர்ந்து வாழ இன்று உறுதியேர்போம்...

“அறுவடை மிகுதி… வேலையாள்கள் குறைவு” என்ற இயேசுவின் அழைப்பை உணர்ந்து நாம் அறுவடைக்கு தயாராகி நம் பணியால் விவேகத்துடன் வீறு நடைப்போடுவோம்... 

என்றும் அன்புடன்...

புதிய மாறுதல் – புதிய தோற்பையாகும்....(5.7.2025)

புதிய மாறுதல் – புதிய தோற்பையாகும்....

பழைய தோற்பைகளில் புதிய திராட்சை மதுவை ஊற்றி வைப்பதில்லை

(மத்தேயு 9:17)

அன்புக்குரிய சகோதர சகோதரிகளே, இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில் இயேசு  "பழைய தோற்பைகளில் புதிய திராட்சை மதுவை ஊற்றினால், தோற்பைகள் சிதைந்து மதுவும் பாழாகும்."

என்கிறார். இவ்வார்த்தைகள் புதிய வாழ்க்கை, புதிய மனப்பான்மை, புதிய உறவுகள், புதிய கட்டமைப்புகள் பற்றிய இயேசுவின் இறையாட்சி குறித்து சிந்திக்க அழைப்பு விடுக்கிறது.

முதலில் நாம் பழைய தோற்பைகள் எவை...? என்பதை அறிவோம்...

பழைய தோற்பைகள் என்பது பழைய பழக்கவழக்கங்கள், கடுமையான சட்டங்கள், மனதில் உறைந்துள்ள (பிரறை பற்றிய முன்சார்பு) பழமையான எண்ணங்கள் எனலாம்.

பரிசேயர் மற்றும் மறைநூல் அறிஞர்கள் கடைபிடித்திருந்த கடினமான சட்டங்களில் அன்பும் இரக்கமும் குறைவாகவே காணப்பட்டது. முற்றிலும் இல்லை என சொல்லலாம்...

அவர்கள் இயேசுவின் புதிய வழியான  இரக்கம், கருணை, பாவிகளை (ம) நமக்கு எதிராக குற்றம் இளைத்தவர்களை ஏற்கும் அன்பு ஆகியவற்றை புரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை. புரிந்துகொள்ள முயற்சிக்கவும் இல்லை.

இன்று நமக்குள் இருக்கும் பழைய தோற்பைகள் எவை? என சிந்திப்போம்....

 1. மற்றவர்களை மன்னிக்க முடியாத மனநிலை

 2. கடவுளை கடமையாக மட்டுமே பார்க்கும் இயந்திர நடத்தை

 3. சமய வாழ்வில் உயிரற்ற (ஈடுபாற்ற) பழக்கங்கள்

இரண்டாவதாக: புதிய திராட்சை மதுவின் அர்த்தம் என்ன? என சிந்திப்போம்...

புதிய திராட்சை மது என்பது இயேசு கொண்டுவந்த புதிய வாழ்வின் அடையாளங்கள். 

அவை இறைவனின் ஆசீர், வாழ்வூட்டும் நம்பிக்கை, உன்னதமான கள்ளம் கபடம் அற்ற அன்பு.

இயேசுவின் வருகை என்பது பழைய சட்டங்களை ஒழிக்கவில்லை; ஆனால் அவற்றை முறைப்படுத்தியது.  அதாவது அதன் உள்ளார்ந்த அர்த்தத்தை நமக்கு உணர்த்தியது.

இன்று நாம் எதை புதிய மதுவாக ஏற்கிறோம்? என சிந்திப்போம்...

1. இறைவேண்டல்கள் செய்வது.

2. திருப்பலியில் பங்கெடுப்பது.

3. இறைவார்த்தையை வாழ்வாக்குவது.

மூன்றாவதாக: புதிய மாறுதல் – புதிய தோற்பையாகும்....

புதிய மதுவைப் பாதுகாக்க, புதிய தோற்பை அவசியம். அதாவது, புதிய எண்ணங்கள், மாற்றத்திற்கான செயல்கள் அவசியம். இதற்கே இன்றைய நற்செய்தி நம்மை அழைக்கிறது: பழையதை விட்டுவிட்டு இன்றுமுதல் புதியதை ஏற்போம்.

நாம் புதிய தோற்பையாக மாற சில பரிந்துரைகள்?

1. நாம்  செய்யும் இறைவேண்டல்கள் அர்த்தம் உணர்ந்து செய்திடல் வேண்டும்.

 2. முழுமையான ஈடுபாட்டுடன் திருப்பலியில்  பங்கேற்றல்.

3. தவறுகளை சரிசெய்து  மனமாற்றம் கொண்டவர்களாய் மனிதநேயத்துடன் வாழ்வோம்.

எனவே... அன்பார்ந்தவர்களே,

இயேசு இன்று நம்மிடம் ஒரு அழைப்பை விடுக்கிறார். அது “பழைய தோற்பைகளில் புதிய திராட்சை மதுவை ஊற்ற வேண்டாம்.”

அதாவது, நாம் புதிய வாழ்வுக்குரிய மனப்பான்மையுடன் வாழ வேண்டும். நம் உள்ளங்களை புதுப்பித்து, ஆண்டவரின் அருளை ஏற்கும் வகையில் தயாராகிட இன்றைய நாளில் இறையருள் வேண்டுவோம்... இறைவன் நம்மை நிறைவாக ஆசீர்வதிப்பார்....

என்றும் அன்புடன்...
