It is not you who speak; it is the Spirit of your Father speaking through you…(11.7.2025)

“It is not you who speak; it is the Spirit of your Father speaking through you…”

Dear brothers and sisters,
In today’s Gospel, the words that Jesus speaks to His disciples invite us to reflect deeply. The phrase, “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves,” emphasizes the need for us to act with great caution. Jesus makes it clear in advance that living as His witnesses in this world is not going to be easy. We must understand and accept this truth.

As we strive to live faithfully in the world, many will oppose us — sometimes even members of our own family. Yet, we need not be afraid. Even if we feel confused or unsure about what to say in those moments, we are comforted by this great promise:
“It is the Spirit of your Father who will speak through you.”

Jesus gives us two important instructions here:

  1. “Be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”
    – In our day-to-day life, both wisdom and purity are essential.

  2. “Do not worry about what to say.”
    – When we walk in trust with God, the Holy Spirit will speak through us.

Today, we face many trials and sufferings. But the promise of Jesus is simple and sure:
“The one who endures to the end will be saved.”

So, let us live without fear. Let us share our faith and witness with hope, guided by the Holy Spirit.
